Nazaré is known for its golden beaches, giant waves and jaw-dropping views from atop the cliff at Sitio. None of these were present on this summer day in July. Instead a white blanket covered this famous fishing town and popular beach resort. The blue sky was missing, the views were obscured. An abstract white. It didn’t keep the sunbathers from enjoying the beach or the tourists from taking the funicular to the top. They kept gazing, into the white.
